The World is another circle of opportunity to help others see, hear, and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Read about our partnership with Compassion International, Feed the Hunger, and multiple missionaries below.
Compassion International exists to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. In a world where over 1 billion children live on less than $2 US each day, child sponsorship is the most strategic way to end child poverty, especially when it is integrated into a holistic approach to child development. The good folks of Redeemer sponsor over 100 kids combined, and Redeemer Kids Ministry has chosen to focus its global missions efforts in partnership with Compassion.
Feed the Hunger
Feed the Hunger is an evangelical mission organization that connects people with strategic leaders domestically and overseas to help people in spiritual and physical need. We have a particular emphasis on Christian leaders who are seeking to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20). Feed the Hunger equips these leaders to feed spiritual hunger with tools like Bibles, community centers/church buildings, bicycles, and micro-enterprise projects. Physical hunger is met through the provision of nutritious food, clean water, and emergency aid and relief. Along with various partners in Katy, Redeemer helped pack over 640,000 meals in November 2016. The hope is to pack more than 1,000,000 in February 2018! feedthehunger.org
Perspectives on the World Christian Movement Course
A number of churches in Katy dream of partnering together to trust God to mobilize 500 people in our combined churches in West Houston to be radical Great Commissions Christians through 500 people taking the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course by the end of 2020. In Fall 2016 our city had 168 students take Perspectives representing 27 area churches! Bear Creek Baptist Church is hosting the course in Fall 2017, and plans are in the works for Redeemer to host in Fall 2018. Leare more here.
GLOBAL MISSIONS PARTNERS
Nathan & Tina Keller / OMF International in Taiwan
OMF International (formerly the China Inland Mission and Overseas Missionary Fellowship) was founded by James Hudson Taylor in 1865. OMF International serves the church and brings the gospel to many of the countries in East Asia, seeking to help place Christians with professional skills in China and other Asian countries and share the love of Christ with East Asians worldwide. Through God's grace, they aim to see an indigenous, biblical church movement in each people group of East Asia, evangelizing their own people and reaching out in mission to other peoples. Find out more here.
Scot & Robin Ullrich / Send International in Bulgaria
SEND International is an evangelical missions community committed to mobilize God's people and engage the unreached in order to establish reproducing churches. For over 50 years, SEND has started churches among unreached people groups. Tim & Michelle O’Brien / Camino Global in Mexico
Camino Global is committed to reach and serve Spanish speakers worldwide, seeking to serve the Church, transform communities, equip believers, and reach the world. This is a shared journey of spiritual transformation with Spanish speakers. The word 'camino' is translated from Spanish as “journey”, “path” or “way.” Jesus Christ is the gateway and the path itself ("I am the way, the truth and the life" / "Yo soy el camino, la verdad, y la vida," John 14:6). East-West Ministries is committed to multiplying followers of Jesus in the spiritually darkest regions of the world. Greg & Beth Ann Carlson / Wycliffe Bible Translators
Today about 350 million people do not have the Bible in their own language. Wycliffe’s vision is to see the Bible accessible to all people in the language they understand best. To make this vision a reality, Wycliffe also focuses on community development, literacy development and church partnerships. Redeemer Community Church has resourced the New Testament translation for the Whitesands People on the South Pacific island of Tanna in the country of Vanuatu. We celebrated the completion of this project in early 2015 and have continued our support for other unreached people groups. Find out more here.
